Founded in 2013 by bodyboarder and waterman Ricardo Faustino, with a vast curriculum in the sport, and Paulo Valente, a physical education teacher and bodyboarder with an equally enviable curriculum and both with over 25 years of experience at sea, Academia do Mar presents itself not only as a school for various water sports, but also as a true academy where athletes of all ages are trained with maximum knowledge of the sea and everything that surrounds it.
Academia do Mar meets all legal requirements, being accredited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation, licensed by Turismo de Portugal, with Civil Liability and Personal Accident Insurance, a license from the Douro Port Authority, and coaches with Professional Sports Coach titles certified by IPDJ.
